The Seafood Bar In Amsterdam

This one was on THE LIST for weeks.. While at work I glanced at the menu and it looked more than appetising: the fingerfood w/ coquilles, calamaris, shrimp croquettes or lobster soup, bouillabaisse soup, fruits de mer, fish & chips, different kinds of oysters, king crabs and so on – off to The Seafood Bar Amsterdam!

They offer fresh quality fish (MSC certified), a good menu w/ fish of that particular season and good pricing (€19,50 for Fish & Chips f.e. two small sole fish w/ fries & salad).
The Seafood Bar is a combination of a bar in the front & a restaurant in the back w/ an open kitchen. The interior is industrial and all the fresh fish showcased, like at the fishmonger, makes your mouth water – at least mine did.

I think it is great to have a seafood restaurant in Amsterdam that is not too expensive. You can make it as pricey as you want. I mean if you are sipping fines de claires all the time, you can expect for the bill to be higher – like we did..

Pass by The Seafood Bar for lunch or dinner! The location on the Van Baerlestraat no. 5 is just perfect: en route to take away a quick sandwich for people who work in the PC, a healthy lunch (full of omega 3) or take away dinner.
