The other day I was invited to join a bloggers event at Van Dobben. For everyone who doesn’t know this brand: Van Dobben serves traditional Dutch snacks called croquetten and bitterballen. The croquet is filled with french ragout and beef and has a crispy outershell, mostly eaten on a fresh white bun (also a favorite of the late Johannes van Dam). The bitterbal is just the smaller sized version of the croquet.
It brings back childhood memories: my family and I used to go to the movies in Amsterdam on a Sunday afternoon. And behind the well-known Tuschinksi cinema (near Rembrandtsplein), you’ll find Eetsalon Van Dobben (Korte Reguliersdwardsstraat 5). For every tourist, expat and local a must visit!
Thanks Van Dobben for inviting me: it was much fun to roll my first croquet! Though I’m more of the eating kind..
