The Harbour Club

When I go out for dinner, most of the time I order fish as a main course. So I couldn’t resist the invite at the chic HARBOUR CLUB! At THE HARBOUR CLUB it’s like swearing in church if you don’t order fish here. (And between you and me, I’ve seen people eat a big steak! Such a shame ;).

So what’s for dinner? You can start off with a variation of oysters, fruits de mer, lobster and king crab or just an ordinary bitterbal! All very delicious.. Though we started with the recommendation we got from our waiter Vic : crispy fried oysters with spinach and hollandaise sauce, a creamy lobster bisque and coquilles with scorzonera and pata negra oil with a chilled South African Chenin Blanc.
As a main course we ordered the catch of the day which was the filet of haddock (schelvisfilet for my Dutch readers) with black truffle, risotto and parsnip puree. I am going to try this at home! My table partner in crime enjoyed an underdone tuna filet with deliciously made spaghetti aglio e olio, fennel salad and tomatoes. Perfect combination!

The setting, the quality of the food and the great service makes it luxury dining. Therefore you think that it is expensive, but you can make it as pricey as you want! The wine and the food is actually quite affordable (respectively €29 and about €25).

When you want to dine at a good seafood restaurant, I definitely recommend you THE HARBOUR CLUB! The service is great (and not stiff at all!), the food even better and the atmosphere is just really good (take into account that it is really big and it doesn’t feel like it at all). Parking is great, especially for bikes ;) And when the sun decides to shine again, the terrace of this restaurant is lovely and accessible by boat!

Definitely worth your visit!

I reserved this restaurant through the app of COUVERTS which is really user friendly: made a booking in a few steps. Another big plus is receiving a text message on the day of your booking: a very convenient and friendly reminder!
