The first MEET AND TASTE of the newest Jamie Magazine NL Spring edition release is a fact! And STORY154 was here to MEET AND TASTE at RESTAURANT FIFTEEN.
Meeting the Jamie Magazine team including editor-in-chief Suzanne Pronk and editor Marieke Verdenius (my Instagram friend turned offline friend), the new chef of FIFTEEN John Gebuis and winner of the popular Dutch tv show “Heel Holland Bakt” Rutger van den Broek a.k.a. The Baking Meister.
Tasting an amuse of goat cheese, spinach and puff pastry and three other lovely dishes, which are now in Jamie Magazine! We started with marinated mackerel from the North Sea with potato, apple, red beet roots and spinach (page 62). Then a soft and truly delicious soup of turnip, purslane and hazelnuts (page 64). And the following dish is my absolute favorite of the day: potatoe pads (sort of gnocchi), Blue d’ Alkmaar, radish and purslane (page 63). The taste of these potatoe pads in combination with the taste of this blue cheese – all together magnificent!
The mackerel and potatoe pads are also integrated into the new FIFTEEN menu >
And that wasn’t it: Rutger demonstrated how to make an “aardbeienslof” and chocolate chip cookies that were both divine! Now we have the chance to make those ourselves, because Jamie’s team made sure that we didn’t leave empty handed: a packed goodie bag with the Spring edition of Jamie Magazine (incl. the recipes of the tasty dishes!), the Jamie Year book, a copy of the just released baking book of Rutger Bakt and a copy of the colourful book of the Meringue Girls.
This MEET AND TASTE was the first of many so if you want to experience a party like this one, get yourself a subscription and keep an eye on Jamie Magazine NL!
For now I am very grateful for being invited by Jamie Magazine and thanks for a lovely Sunday!
