Frites uit Zuyd
“My fave kind of one-trick pony”, says food trendwatcher Marjan Ippel before FRITES UIT ZUYD opened last Saturday. One trick pony I hear you think? Restaurants like JUICE & SALAD, THE BUTCHER, MEATBALLS and SLA – or food bar in this case – that mainly offer one special product (read all about that here). At FRITES UIT ZUYD those are fries. And boy, do I love me some fries and mayonnaise!
Such a fries concept is originally from the South, as in The Netherlands but also from Belgium where chip stands (“frietkotten”) are very popular and even acknowledged by Unesco World Heritage.
This foodbar wants to be your extended living room where you get some terribly good fries and wait for it while nipping on a glass of wine. They achieve this by offering DE PIJP high quality fries, simplicity of their concept/menu and outstanding hospitality! That sounds perfect to me.
