This week’s Tuesday 10 Best is about the best places to eat chicken: chicken from the grill, a poussin or chicken wings. Because, who doesn’t like chicken? Everyone right! So here is our 10 best list:
ROTISSERIE RIJSEL‘s name says it all: a rotisserie is a style of roasting where meat – chicken in this case – is skewered on a spit. At RIJSEL they are well-known for their poussin. This is how they call it here because of the French and Flemish cuisine.
BIERFABRIEK is a valhalla for guys (and girls who love beer)! 500 square meter of beer, lots of chicken and peanuts (you can throw the shells on the ground). Who doesn’t love this combination? Not me! #sorrynotsorry
HOTEL DE GOUDFAZANT is an industrial restaurant in the outskirts of Amsterdam Noord. The ferry to this far-away spot takes you to a culinary heaven where they also make a magnificent tender and juicy chick! Especially for you..
DE WATERKANT is a new tropical hotspot along the Marnixstraat that has a Surinam feel to it. Together with some Parbo beers, you can choose to go for some tasty chicken wings, half a chicken, a chicken roti roll or a salad with pulled rotisserie farmer chicken. You decide!
SMALL WORLD CATERING is a bit of a stranger in this list. Why? Because they don’t have grilled chicken but have killer chicken avocado sandwiches with a lot of garlic and herbs. Once you tasted this one.. pfff!
VAN ‘ T SPIT is well-known for the chicks that are skewered on a long solid rod used to hold food while it is being cooked over a fire in a fireplace or roasted in an oven. You can choose between an entire or half a chicken served with salad, cole slaw, French fries and home made mayonnaise. And the inhouse wood stack is ready to heat up the fire!
BUFFET VAN ODETTE is a classic French restaurant along the Prinsengracht. This restaurant and its cuisine is ideal for lunch: Enjoy a chilled white wine together with a poussin from Julliet. All things on the menu are delicious!
DE BIERTUIN serves you a juicy half of a chicken accompanied by French fries, salad and home made “appelmoes” or apple sauce if you translate it literally from Dutch. You cannot reserve here and it is a very popular place with the local hipsters. So come early!
BAR MOUSTACHE serves a Polletto piccante, a spicy marinated juicy and tasty chicken. The menu of this restaurant is Italian, the atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff very friendly. A great hangout for a Friday afternoon!
BALTHAZARS KEUKEN is also a French oriented restaurant, just like BUFFET VAN ODETTE, and has a fixed weekly menu. This Menu de la Semaine is not always accompanied by a tasty chicken, but when they do.. prepare to lick off your fingers!
