Along the IJ river, wherever would that name come from, lies RESTAURANT I-DOCK: a spacious restaurant with an enormous terrace, their own marina and a bar, just minutes from Central Station and the Haarlemmerbuurt.
Although we knew they opened a while back, we didn’t cross it off our to visit list yet. The 1st Culi Bloggers Drink made us do this ;)
Welcomed with chilled white wine after a hard day at work is always a good idea! Spoiled with platters full of charcuterie, cheese and seafood: a selection of San Daniele ham, Spinata Romana, Romero cheese, Blue d’Evert and Bastiaan Brie. The seafood platter was filled with a really good smoked salmon and eel, chilled gambas with lemon mayonnaise, marinated shells, olives and artichokes.
After a few refills (wine and I-Bites), I-DOCK surprised us with a dish that was the best of combinations: Gnocchi with Blue d’Evert, pear and smoked almond (and I’m no gnocchi fan at all!). The gnocchi were soft and tasty with the salty cheese into a delicate sauce with a sweet pear and the “nutty” and smoked taste of the almonds. One word: de-lic-ious!
You can go here for breakfast, a relaxed lunch, some bites in the afternoon, chill out on their terrace after you moored your boat or dinner. Too bad we didn’t make use of this wonderful possibility before! Better luck next time ;)
