July’s Food Events

Summer nights with warm breezes, late-night dancing at a festival, going out without a jacket, the smell of barbecues, chats with friends in the park, the warmth on your skin and the wind through your hair, finding coolness in watermelon and riding a bike. Summer is here guys. Check out at which festival you want to experience all of the above.

Over ‘t IJ Festival
When: Thursday 2nd of July till 12th 2015.
Where: The Festival takes place at the NDSM wharf.
What: A mix of theatre, food, music, art, drinks and fun! Check their website for more info on tickets, location and programming.

Gelato Festival
When: Thursday July 9 till July 12 2015.
Where: Marie Heinekenplein, a big square in De Pijp.
What: Do I need to explain a Gelato Festival? Prepare yourself to eat a lot of homemade ice cream made by the best of the best ice cream makers like Metropolitan.

Mendo Pop Up at Hôtel Droog
When: Tuesday 14 July till 31 August 2015.
Where: Hôtel Droog on the Staalstraat 7B in Amsterdam.
What: The new pop-up location will carry all the MENDO-made books like their latest edition of Below Sea Level, High Tide, the classic Amsterdam book and when being housed next to the Canals of Amsterdam of course also the synonymous book: The Amsterdam Canals.

Food Truck Festival TREK
When: Friday 4pm July 17 till Sunday July 19 2015.
Where: Amstelpark is the place to be!
What: TREK transforms urban parks into one big open air food fest with tens of food trucks and other mobile restaurants. Not only food is a big player at TREK, also music, theatre and art is a part of this joyful gettogether. Bring your picknick blanket!

Kanen Bij Ten Kate
When: Every Thursday from 16 July to 16 August 2015.
Where: Ten Katestraat 119 in Amsterdam. In front of Café Panache.
What: Good food by local food trucks, lovely drinks by local hotspot Café Panache! From 17:00 to ?

Burger Beer Battle Round 3
When: Saturday 18 July 2015.
Where: Cruquiusweg 124a in Amsterdam.
What: Are you ready for Round 3 of the Burger Beer Battle? You can vote for who makes the best burger and brews the best beer. The burgers are from De Burger, The Bostel Brothers, Pocha Factory and Don Holo Burgers. The beers from Jopen Beer, Oersoep, Two Chefs Brewing and James Brews. Buy your ticket here. Music and party all night long!

Kanen Bij Ten Kate
When: Thursday 23 July 2015.
Where: Ten Katestraat 119 in Amsterdam. In front of Café Panache.
What: Good food by local food trucks, lovely drinks by local hotspot Café Panache! From 17:00 to ?

Opening Boi Boi
When: From 3 to 6pm on Friday 24 July 2015.
Where: Dapperstraat 12 in Amsterdam.
What: The opening of a Thai restaurant in Amsterdam Oost that wants to do it differently. Are you as curious as we are? Check it out!

Frits – The Amsterdam Friday Drink
When: From 6pm on Friday 24 July 2015.
Where: At Pllek, TT Neveritaweg 59 in Amsterdam Noord.
What: Drinks and music by some cool DJs at this wonderful spot in Amsterdam Noord!

The Neighbourfood Market
When: Sunday 26 July 2015.
Where: Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
What: Join this Sunday market to extend your relaxed weekend feel with a variety of food, nice drinks and a few vintage finds. This market takes place every third Sunday of the month.

Pure Markt
When: From 11am to 6pm on Sunday 26 July 2015.
Where: Park Frankendael in Amsterdam Oost.
What: A source of exceptional, artisan, Dutch and international produce, food and creativity. Approximately 70% of the stalls are food related and the rest is a mix of designer, vintage and gift items.

Kanen Bij Ten Kate
When: Thursday 30 July 2015.
Where: Ten Katestraat 119 in Amsterdam. In front of Café Panache.
What: Good food by local food trucks, lovely drinks by local hotspot Café Panache! From 17:00 to ?

Amsterdam Kookt
When: From Thursday 30 July to Sunday 2 August 2015.
Where: NDSM wharf in Amsterdam Noord.
What: A four days music and food paradise in Amsterdam Noord! You can enjoy music by Kris Berry and a variety of food trucks. But to leave you with a watered mouth: Loetje, Brandt & Levie, Dutch Weed Burger, Nghia N Nghia, Let’s Salsa and many more.

BAUTZUID Oesterfest
When: From 4pm on Thursday 30 July 2015.
Where: BAUTZUID in Amsterdam Zuid.
What: Oysters for €1! They offer three different kinds of oysters: French with a vinaigrette of red wine vinegar, a Dutch one with cucumber salsa and Granny Smith apple or go for the Asian twist with sesame, red pepper, coriander and yuzu ponzu (soy with yuzu citrus).
