YAY is the new rookie in town! The healthy lunch spots are ‘popping out of the ground like mushrooms’ would the Dutch people say. And let me tell you, it is just starting. YAY Health Store & More is the new rookie in town, located on the Albert Cuypstreet in the Pijp or is it the Gerard Doustreet? No worries! YAY has two entrances, via the Albert Cuypstreet you could enter the café or via the Gerard Doustreet you could enter the shop. No problem if you are doing it the other way around because the shop and café are both connected.
YAY makes it easy being green
The name tells enough, it is more than just a healthy spot to eat. YAY’s health café is a place where visitors can hangout and enjoy a healthy, vegan, and raw breakfast or lunch. You are also at the right place for your daily dose of juice, coffee, tea or snacks. Everything on the menu is raw, pure and made of honest ingredients. YAY does not only care about animal cruelty but also about the environment. They use second hand items to decorate YAY and most of the items you see in the store are for sale.
At the store, they are creating a platform for pure, fair and sustainable products from innovative young brands with a unique story behind it. But there is still more. After closing time, YAY enters a transform. It changes to a place, where curious persons can learn or practice yoga to relax your body and mind. YAY got it all; all you need for a green, happy, and healthy lifestyle.
Say YAY to the year of the pulses
The veganism trend had its global introduction in 2015 already and is growing further in 2016. More and more people are interested in eating plant based due to several reasons. It could be animal cruelty, the environment but also just because it is healthier. According to Kelly (owner of YAY), it does not really matter which reason you choose. You are helping the world in any reason you choose. And the world is on a good way. 2016 has been declared ‘The year of the pulses’ by the United Nations. They are environment friendly and a healthier alternative for meat.
People are gaining more knowledge, as there is a wide availability of information. As well, they are curious on what is in their food and how it is produced. Eating plant based makes it easier to know what you are eating and how you feed your body. Kelly was inspired by raw food in Indonesia, where raw food is known for years. Raw food is a way of living a vegan lifestyle. It is plant-based nutrition, which is not being heated above 42 Celsius. All the nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and enzymes will be kept, which is good for your body.
We hope that this introduction has given you some basic information about veganism and YAY Health Store & More, who will easily help you being green. So what are you waiting for?
