Bye bye summer, hello autumn! It’s getting darker earlier and you can get your candle lights from your cabinet to lighten up and warm your cosy home. Or go for a candle light dinner with friends or your girl or boy. We got some great tips in store for you for those candle lit evenings or lazy mornings with coffee.
COFFEE SPOTS – wet and windy autumn weather calls for lazy Sundays with lots of coffee at one of the many great coffee spots in Amsterdam. COFFEE BRU in Oost, CAFFE IL MOMENTO in City Centre, DE ESPRESSOFABRIEK in West or SCANDINAVIAN EMBASSY in Zuid.
BALTHAZAR’S KEUKEN – a small French restaurant along the Elandsgracht. This former blacksmith is petite, tasty and authentic. With the cosiness of someone’s living room with candle light dinner and authentic French cuisine it is a real treat!
BURGER GALORE – Some readers are going to check out all the hamburgers on the first list of 10 best spots to eat hamburgers. We already did ;) But we got so many tips that we are going to set up a part II of this list! We have to check out the burgers of DE BIERTUIN, LOMBARDO’S, THE YOUNG PRETENDERS, GEFLIPT, BAR-B BURGERS ‘N BEER and PONTSTATION among many others.
SMOKIN’ BARRELS – this restaurant and cocktail bar opens officially today! So congratulations on your newest hotspot, next to DE BIERTUIN, WATERKANT and BAR BUKOWSKI. Read STORY154’s announcement here >
MEAT WEST – when the winter (ok autumn) sets in, you’ll be craving winter warming dishes like stews, meats and stamppotjes (a real Dutch dish of mashed potatoes, veggies and meat). MEAT WEST definitely will meat your needs ;)
BILDER & DE CLERCQ – dining with friends at home is also one of our favorite things to do! So if you want to cook something culinary, go to this high end grocery store and wow your friends with your cooking skills. Read STORY154’s review here >
KESSENS is opening soon on the Rozengracht with Scandinavian design and classical dishes like gravad lax. The founder is the youngest family member of HOLTKAMP, the pastry brand in Amsterdam. Really curious how this turns out!

Yum!! Definitely going to add these to my list :) I always see Scandanavian Embassy come up when I Yelp for my neighborhood, but was always confused by the name!
