May’s Food Events in Amsterdam
Every month STORY154 tells you about the coolest food events that are organized in Amsterdam: From a weekly food truck event to a cocoa festival and regular weekly events. The month of food events has started! May is famous for its (food) events and with this list you are totally up to date.
AMSTERDAM AFTERWORK
When: Thursday 7 May 2015.
Where: BAUTZUID in Amsterdam.
What: This special edition of HEINEKEN AFTERWORK takes places at BAUTZUID. A great spot for an afterwork drink with colleagues, meeting new people and network. And with yummy food as well!
KANEN BIJ DE CAMPUS
When: 3.30 pm – 9.30 pm Thursday 7 May 2015.
Where: Rhijnspoorplein West in Amsterdam.
What: THE EATERY organizes a weekly Thursday event together with different food trucks, live music, beers, wines and cool people on the campus of Rhijnspoorplein, next to the Kohnstammhuis on Wibautstraat.
SOUL FOOD BBQ
When: From 7 May till 31 May on every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Where: ‘t Blauwe Theehuys in Het Vondelpark in Amsterdam.
What: Marnetta’s Soul Food BBQ [mar-net-tas-soul-fud-bar-bi-kyu] serves you BBQ’d Jamaican Jerk chicken thighs marinated in 26 spices. Served with BBQ sauce, rice & peas & creamy coleslaw OR Juicy Caribbean Beef Burger (198g) served with cassava chips, salad and orange mayo. Rice & peas, coleslaw and cassava chips with BBQ sauce are the vegetarian options.
PURE MARKT
When: 11 am till 6 pm on Sunday 10 May 2015.
Where: Amstelpark in Amsterdam.
What: Enjoy a wide variety of food at PURE MARKT in the Amstelpark! From 11 am to 6 pm you can order all kinds of food from different stands. But next to food, they have drinks and non-food. But to give you an example: Sushi, oysters of ZILT EN ZALIG, Iberian hams, pintxos, tapas, paella, smoked salmon, the lovely vegetarian gyros of VLEESCH NOCH VISCH, homemade English pies, crepes, galettes.
HET WEEKEND VAN DE ROLLENDE KEUKENS
When: Wednesday 13 May till Sunday 17 May 2015.
Where: Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
What: De Rollende Keukens is a food festival with a lot of cool food trucks that serve their signature dish.
KANEN BIJ DE CAMPUS
When: 3.30 pm – 9.30 pm Thursday 14 May 2015.
Where: Rhijnspoorplein West in Amsterdam.
AMSTERDAM COFFEE FESTIVAL
When: Friday 15 till Sunday 17 May 2015.Where: NDSM wharf in Amsterdam Noord (take the ferry to NDSM).
What: Coffee, coffee and more coffee. Quality coffee that is! This festival is dedicated to roasted beans, latte art and the brown goodness.
BIERWEST
When: 1pm to 10pm on Sunday 17 May.
Where: Mercatorplein in Amsterdam.
What: A special beer fest in West with beers of local beer breweries and food by FRITS and CAFE ZURICH.
NEIGHBOURFOOD MARKET
When: Sunday 24 May 2015.
Where: Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
What: The NEIGHBOURFOOD MARKET is for everyone who loves to wander around on a Sunday while enjoying all the delicious scents and tastings of the food stands. This event takes place on every third Sunday of the month.
SISSY-BOY SUMMERMARKET
When: 10am to 6pm on Saturday 30 May 2015.
Where: The Vondelpark in Amsterdam.
What: Experience a world of SISSY-BOY with lifestyle, art and fashion items, cool live music and food. Of course.
PURE MARKT
When: 11 am till 6 pm on Sunday 31 May 2015.
Where: Park Frankendael in Amsterdam.
