June’s Food Events

June brings us sun, bright natural colours and a lot of food. Long and warm summer evenings dancing the night away with your friends, champagne and good food. Sounds like a dream right? Check out where you can enjoy these long evenings..

TASTE OF AMSTERDAM
When: Thursday 4th till Sunday 7 June 2015.
Where: Amstelpark in Amsterdam.
What: Taste of Amsterdam is a culinary heaven where chefs prepare their signature dish. As one of the Tastebloggers I wrote a few reviews. Read them here about Restaurant Blauw, De Foodhallen or Restaurant Het Bosch.

HET HOOFDGERECHT
When: Thursday 11 till Sunday 14 June 2015.
Where: Het Stenen Hoofd on the Westerdoksdijk 705c in Amsterdam.
What: Food trucks, mini foodtruck bites, food workshops, no waste workshops, cool games and music of Kris Kross, Disco Dolly and many more! Day ticket is between €5 and €7 excluding food and drinks.

SHAKINGSUPPER BY TESS
When: Thursday 11 June 2015.
Where: Supperclub at De Jonge Roelensteeg in Amsterdam.
What: Dutch World Class Bartender of the Year Tess Posthumus and chef Joey de Vries of the Supperclub serve you an unique five course food & cocktail pairing menu. This will be the final edition of the Supperclub at this location, because the Supperclub is moving after 20 years.

PURE MARKT
When: 11am till 6pm on Sunday 14 June 2015.
Where: Amstelpark in Amsterdam.
What: Enjoy a wide variety of food at PURE MARKT in the Amstelpark! From 11 am to 6 pm you can order all kinds of food from different stands. For the specific food stands, check their website.

VIS MOET ZWEMMEN (FISH HAS TO SWIM)
When: From 5pm on Friday 19 June 2015.
Where: Restaurant Stork in Amsterdam Noord.
What: The first herring vessels will be docked. The event starts at 5pm. The perfect ending of your work week. Don’t be late! ;)

NEIGHBOURFOOD MARKET
When: Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2015.
Where: Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
What: The NEIGHBOURFOOD MARKET is for everyone who loves to wander around on a Sunday while enjoying all the delicious scents and tastings of the food stands. This event takes place on every third Sunday of the month.

PURE MARKT
When: 11am till 6pm on Sunday 21 June 2015.
Where: Beatrixpark in Amsterdam.
What: Enjoy a wide variety of food at PURE MARKT in the Amstelpark! From 11 am to 6 pm you can order all kinds of food from different stands. For the specific food stands, check their website.

FRIETJES & FLUITJES OP FRIJDAG
When: From 4pm till 11.55 pm on Friday 26 June 2015.
Where: Pop-up venue EnSuite of Razmataz in Amsterdam.
What: Drinks and bites on a Friday afternoon in the sun, that sounds marvelous right? Add local craft beer and fries to this and you got the perfect ending of your work week! And the fries are only €1.

HOFTUIN ZOMERFEEST
When: From 6pm on Saturday 27 June 2015.
Where: At de Hoftuin, Nieuwe Herengracht 18A in Amsterdam.
What: During this summerfest you can enjoy a drink and dancing the night away in the beautiful garden of De Hoftuin. Too bad I’m not in town that day! You should go for me.. :( Entrance is for free, drinks are not.
UPDATE: This festival is already sold out.

Where: Park Frankendael in Amsterdam.
What: Enjoy a wide variety of food at PURE MARKT in the Park Frankendael! From 11 am to 6 pm you can order all kinds of food from different stands. For the specific food stands, check their website.

CHEF’S PODIUM
When: From 6pm on Sunday 28 June 2015.
Where: Rue de Sèvres in Amsterdam West.
What: A beautiful bridge between food and art. A bunch of grapes stand for fertility in a painting. But what meaning do the other fruits, wine and bread in the painting have? Everything contributes. But we rarely know which. Therefore, a passionate art historian will tell you this during this special evening.

BRING YOUR OWN GIN PARTY
When: Monday 29 June 2015 from 7.30 pm till 11.55 pm.
Where: At Razmataz’ EnSuite in Amsterdam.
What: Bring your own what? Gin! This is the second edition of this BYO party and on the terrace of EnSuite. Mix and match your fave Gub and discover your Perfect Summer Serve. EnSuite arranges the tonics, the garnish, glasses and the ice. You bring your fave Gin!

Since October 2014 Amsterdam has its own indoor food market: DE FOODHALLEN. At Amsterdam’s 1st indoor market you find a lot of different dishes: From sushi to traditional Dutch bitterballen, from pasta to pizza. All so delicious! It’s the perfect spot to visit with friends and reminds you of indoor food markets in Madrid, Barcelona or Stockholm.

As one of the TASTE BLOGGERS, Lotte of Culi Amsterdam and myself got to visit DE FOODHALLEN and tell you about the 4 food stands that are present at TASTE OF AMSTERDAM. TASTE has a mini indoor food market in store for you! Woohooo…

LE BIG FISH of chef Robert Kranenborg is the first food stand that’s on my list! For your fish cravings, you must visit this seafood heaven. LE BIG FISH serves you a crispy soft shell crab burger on a steamed bun, some wakame and creamy wasabi and a yummy salmon taco with poached and steamed salmon, coriander and jalapeno foam, next to oysters. One word: DE-LIC-IOUS!

The second stand that is at TASTE 2015 is VIET VIEW. VIET VIEW is famous for its Vietnamese street food with mindblowing Bánh mì (Vietnamese baguettes) and their homemade and fresh Gỏi cuốn (spring rolls). During TASTE they will serve you their freshly made spring rolls with chicken, shrimp, pork and beef. But they also serve you small and big fried spring rolls (named “loempia’s” in Dutch).
