This month’s favorites are dedicated to the lovely summery weather that has set in Amsterdam. What are the best spots to chill out in the sun and find some coolness along the water (and maybe take a dip in it ;).
Pllek is a beach like hotspot in Amsterdam that is big, relaxed and a bit alternative. Enjoy the sun while watching the boats go by.
Restaurant Girassol is situated along the Amstel river. It’s a bit out of the city’s centre, but perfect for a chill afternoon with Portuguese bites, sand between your toes and an occasional dip in the water (be careful though, boats sail here too!).
Hesp is the restaurant next to Restaurant Girassol. A really relaxed spot to sit on the terrace.
Hannekes Boom is this uber chill spot behind Central Station and Nemo. They serve you the perfect bites like nachos with a corona on the side. Sit on the dock with your feet in the water and feel the sun on your skin!
Amsterdam Roest has a beach as well! In Amsterdam Oost lies this sunbathing heaven. Easily accessible by boat and perfect to quench your warmth by taking a dive.
Bluespoon for when you are on a boat and you want some delicious snacks!

Ubuntu in Zandvoort is a relaxed beach restaurant with a good vibe, friendly staff and good food. Ideal to hang out! Bring your kids and let them play on the swing.
George No. 5 is a beach spot in Zandvoort AND has a swimming pool as well! If that isn’t decadence? It is the perfect rendez-vous by the sea. Order a bottle of bubbles with some fresh fish!
Tyn Akersloot in Zandvoort is a big beach spot, has nice sandwiches plus other food and cool drinks.
Rapa Nui in Bloemendaal along the coast is a surfers valhalla. Take a lesson while you are it!
