Amsterdam- East is hot and happening.. People call it the ‘new Pijp’. I definitely agree! Bar Basquiat is one of those cool places, amongst others that make East so much fun!
Bar Basquiat is located on the Javastraat, in this street new places keep popping up! You can get breakfast, lunch and drinks and bites here. Nice to know; this bar is named after Jean – Michel Basquiat. Jean – Michel made graffiti inspired art, he even worked together with Andy Warhol! The interior is totally inspired by him; colorful and playful. Everywhere around you there is something to see.
The coffee is the best! Made from the customized La Marzocco machine. A really nice eyecather on a pink tiled bar. They serve breakfast all day, a long list of sandwiches and salads. In the evening you can chill on their terrace with crafted beers and snacks! In June they hosted a live art event, by artist Nick Twaalfhoven. Here you could bring your old denim jacket and he would totally pimp it up! Next time they host an event like this we will definitely join.
In short it’s a really really really nice place to visit and while you’re enjoying your food also take a look at the art! Two birds one stone..
