Bar Louie Louie

.. is one of the coolest bars, no the coolest bar along the Lineausstraat! With its big terrace and huge windows, friendly and attentive staff and delicious menu (read: red velvet, avocado mash, yummy salads), Bar Louie Louie is one of my favorite spots in Amsterdam Oost!

The interior is nice and perfectly designed: it breathes the right South American atmosphere and is connected to the food they serve (Cuban/South American). Together with a big bar, the right tables and chairs interchanged with comfy sofas and a big ass terrace just across Het Tropenmuseum.

Bar Louie Louie is the perfect place for a coffee (with red velvet) in the morning, breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks in the evening. Go for the avocado mash or the turkey sandwich, one of their yummy salads or the torta cubana if you’re really hungry. They have a wide variety of bar bites so this is the perfect spot to sip on a sangria, cocktail, beer or wine accompanied by quesadillas, BBQ pork ribs, queso manchego or just some ordinary bitterballen. For dinner they vary between fish, tacos, meat, vegetarian meals and of course desserts (red velvet if you can).

I certainly love the work of this chef! Every meal has the perfect combination of ingredients. During lunch I enjoyed the quinoa salad very much with cashews, a smooth feta, lettuce, tomatoes, Turkish yoghurt, pomegranate and a wonderful spicy and tasty pepper. The avocado mash is always a favorite. Topped off with a red velvet. Food baby guaranteed!
