The lovely weather of last weekend ensured that I spotted this new restaurant* alongside the Amstel river named RIVA. Together with my friends we sailed in our canal boat to Ouderkerk aan de Amstel & saw this great building and terrace overlooking the river.
Unfortunately we didn’t see the inside of RIVA, because we already had plans to sail to and eat at Loetje (see my column in Dutch). I googled it though & these results came up (with courtesy of Michael van Oosten):

Cees Dam designed the building. The interior designers agency Heyligers design + projects is responsible for the interior of RIVA. The photos show waves on the ceiling which were descend from the Amstel river. Next to the interior, I am very curious about the dishes they serve.. According to their online menu it is a mix of international (sea) food. So when the weather will let me, I def give RIVA a try!
*RIVA opened its doors on the 19th of May!
