CAFÉ DE WALVIS (a whale) is a bar slash restaurant in the upcoming Spaarndammerbuurt(check Google Maps for location). It is a comfortable café with a large terrace overlooking a small square and the shopping street, the Spaarndammerstraat.
This street has been renovated recently: definitely for the better!

The lunch menu offers different kinds of sandwiches like caprese, mortadella, cheese or chicken. A good deal they offer: sandwich + orange juice + coffee = €8,70.

For dinner they serve a variety of starters carpaccio of bresaola (€7,90), bread & tapenade (€3,50) and salads like a ceasar salad (€7,50; small) or with Gorgonzola, fresh figes and walnuts (€7,90; small). As a main course you can choose between a big tender burger (€14,50), chicken sate (€14,25), poussin from the charcoal grill (€15,50) or a fresh pasta dish from their neighbour Holy Ravioli. As you know, I am crazy about pasta!

Café de Walvis is a real asset for this neighbourhood!
