APPLE PIE: WHAT TEAM ARE YOU ON?

Ok, this weekend I found out that there is an apple pie battle going on in the Jordaan! Some people fancy Winkel‘s apple pie (Noordermarkt 43), while others prefer the pie of Papeneiland (corner Prinsengracht/Brouwersgracht). Which apple pie do you fancy?

I prefer WINKEL’s apple pie actually. It is similar to the pies my mom makes with chunks of apple, raisins, soft dough and a delicious crust. They sell about 200 pies on a Monday morning (because of the Noordermarkt), so some people agree with me. Then add the whipped cream of PAPENEILAND and you have the best combination ever!
The difference between both is that the apple pie of PAPENEILAND consists of more apples than pie and I love me some pie! Though I must admit that Papeneiland has the best location to sit and watch city life passing by. Definitely recommending this spot! Just with a nice glass of wine.

So what team are you on: WINKEL or PAPENEILAND? Or do you first need to taste. both pies. on the same day?
