Finally we went to HOTEL DE GOUDFAZANT last Friday! And boy did I deserve a glass (a bottle!) of Pinot Grigio after a week of hard work at 3sixtyfive. HOTEL DE GOUDFAZANT is a French orientated restaurant in a big factory-esque building, in the midst of an industrial part of Amsterdam Noord. Far from ideal for tourists, you should rent a bike or take a taxi. Though it’s worth the travel: the entrance and the atmosphere of this restaurant is big and industrial but it’s also very warm and living room like. The hospitality of the staff is more than great especially the handshake on arrival and the waiters are friendly and talkative.
What’s for dinner? Lovely French dishes like steak tartare, oysters or lobster with freshly baked bread, cream butter and a pinch of salt (very important combination!). As a main my friends and I harmoniously chose meat: lambs neck, veal stew, black angus – mouthwatering! And for dessert? Go for the puff pastry with berries and raspberry coulis, ‘hemelse modder’ or the baba au rhum. What this is? Just ask one of those kind waiters…
CAFÉ MODERN is the other restaurant of HOTEL DE GOUDFAZANT.
