My eyes spy new food trends and I want to share this with you. Tea is hot and happening: from an ordinary Earl Grey tea to Thé Sur Le Nil all the way from Paris. Was it ever gone? No. But it’s making its way back in a more distinguised manner: quality leaves and preparation is key.
1. Quality tea
We want our tea to be qualitative, just like a good cup of coffee f.e. at Scandinavian Embassy. At Citea you can choose between a variety of quality tea whatever suits your style. Also at Four Leaves in Amsterdam you can get lovely tea from foreign tea houses like Maison de thé Theodor. Or when you are in Paris, don’t forget tostop at LE TE PALAIS!
Loose tea leaves are IT right now! And I like them especially from special tea houses. Though these aren’t that cheap and you have to buy tea bags to fill them with leaves. Other tea (bagging) brands are becoming more popular like Clipper Teas and Yogi Tea: organic tea without the hassle of filling a bag with tea leaves. Another favorite here at STORY154 is the organic lemongrass tea of an Amsterdam tea shop called ‘T Zonnetje, again with loose tea leaves.
2. Preparation
At Holybelly in Paris the tea is prepared for you.. no tea bagging, but well prepared tea. They know exactly how long the tea should be hanging in the cup (and it’s tracked with a clock ;). So when will be the day that waiters serve you tea instead of hot water with a tea bag?
