It feels like a trip around the world, though you only have to take a ferry to go to this other part of Amsterdam: the North district! The nicest hotspots in Noord are – in my opinion – the following. Feel free to add your own as a comment!
Hotel De Goudfazant – lovely dishes, great service and I personally love the industrial interior (see photo)!
Pllek – a creative spot with one of the best terraces in Amsterdam.
Jacques Jour is the brunch version of Café Modern which is of the same owner as Hotel De Goudfazant – expect a fixed five course dinner for €40, delicious!
Noorderlicht – if it is really busy at Pllek you can unwind at this creative spot! It’s very relaxed..
Stork Restaurant – enjoy some fresh seafood for lunch or dinner. Great spot along the waterside!
De IJ-Kantine – directly from the ferry to the terrace of this place, easy and nice burgers and view.
Loetje Aan ‘t IJ – best steak in town! No need to add more info ;) I wrote a blog about Loetje which you can read here.
The Coffee Virus – coffee, homemade sweets or salads, toastis and sandwiches all in the lobby of the creative world of A LAB. Sign up for a LUNCH ROULETTE! ;)
‘T Pontstation – snackbar gone healthy! Check out their meals of the week or sandwich of the month. And if you’re quick you can get fries tonight for €1,50!
Eye Film Museum – for their lovely terrace overlooking ‘t IJ.
Hopefully Kanen Aan ‘t IJ will be back soon when the weather allows it. These food trucks on Overhoeksplein serve some good food!
All restaurants are accessible by ferry and worth the trip to ‘this other part’ of town… There are three different ferries to Noord, so pay attention!
