The food festival season has started since May ’14! It all started with the first coffee festival in Amsterdam followed by some well-known festivals. Check out all the festivals below! I will update it as soon as I hear of another festival – always food related.. So keep coming back for new updates ;)
OCTOBER
VIS & SEIZOEN FESTIVAL – 2 to 4 October
TASTE OF AMSTERDAM and famous Dutch fish supplier Jan van As combined their talents and organized VIS & SEIZOEN FESTIVAL. A food festival where fish is leading: Sushi, fish from the Big Green Egg and a lot more! Restaurants like AAN DE POEL, CIEL BLUE, BISTRO NOORD, TOSCANINI, THE SEAFOOD BAR and BRIDGES are their to show their specialties.
SUNDAY MARKET – 5 October
On every first Sunday of the month the Westergasfabriek turns into a shopping area full of art, clothing, bags, food and design.
LOCAL GOODS WEEKEND MARKET – 18 and 19 October
In the lovely new market space of TRAMREMISE DE HALLEN which is also nearby MEAT WEST, BRASSERIE HALTE 3 and soon DE FOODHALLEN is a new edition of the LOCAL GOODS WEEKEND MARKET. Expect lovely food but also non-food, a terrific ambiance and brands from Amsterdam!
NEIGHBOURFOOD MARKET – 19 October
This market always takes place at the Westergasfabriek (nearby MOSSEL & GIN). A lot of caterers, eco farmers, bakers, butchers, chefs, sausagemakers, juice pressers, soup boilers and fanatical foodies like myself love to wander around on a lazy food loving Sunday.
PURE MARKT – 19 October
PURE MARKT is a traveling Sunday market with a number of fixed locations like different kinds of parks in Amsterdam (Park Frankendael, Het Beatrixpark en Amstelpark). Expect good seaonal food in a “gezellige” – cosy – atmosphere with loads of stands.
DE FOODHALLEN – 21 October
The official opening of DE FOODHALLEN is on the 21st of October. 21 Food stands will sell their signature dishes! Read STORY154’s review about it here >
PURE MARKT – 26 October
PURE MARKT is a traveling Sunday market with a number of fixed locations like different kinds of parks in Amsterdam (Park Frankendael, Het Beatrixpark en Amstelpark). Expect good seaonal food in a “gezellige” – cosy – atmosphere with loads of stands.
NOVEMBER
OLD AMSTERDAM FOOD TOUR – 23 November
On this day there is a tour through Amsterdam with theme “Golden Age Dinner”. It’s from 2 to 6pm. In the Golden Age food was at the heart of social, economic and political life in Amsterdam. Food was everywhere!
HET HOOFDGERECHT WINTERFESTIVAL – 28 to 30 November
This food festival is ready to set up its winter edition! For a whole weekend you can enjoy food, entertainment and fun activities at the AMSTERDAM FOOD CENTER.
DECEMBER
BLUESPOON FOOD X-MAS MARKET – 14 December
On this day BLUESPOON arranges a X-MAS MARKET from 10 am to 4 pm. Wander along the market with food stands like Kef, Brandt & Levie, Brandmeester, De Pasteibakkerij, Lindenhoff.
