One of my favorite hang outs is BAR BOCA’S! The relaxed atmosphere and good food are the perfect aspects for an easy Saturday or Sunday afternoon with friends. You can sit on the bench near the entrance, hang at the bar or sit on the high tables at the end of the restaurant – my favorite spot!
The bar/ restaurant was founded by three partners in crime: maîtres Miguel Mecidi and Maarten Saarberg and chef Philip Saarberg. The name has its origin from bocadillo‘s which are small baguettes with toppings originally from Spain. And since a certain amount of time BOCA’S also set foot at DE PIJP along the Sarphatipark.

At BOCA’S you are always welcome: from breakfast to lunch to dinner and drinks. I can stay here from lunch to late in the evening enjoying some boca‘s with Blonde d’Aquitaine beef, foie gras and truffle mayonnaise, the carpaccio of scallop or one with Jamon Serrano, Tabasco and crème fraîche, the steak chimichurri or a boca with a Van Dobben croquette and Dijon mustard.
You can also order a mixed platter with salami, mackerel, Shropshire Blue (blue cheese) with balsamic vinegar, the bags fries with three different types of mayonnaise, chestnut mushrooms topped with blue cheese or a tuna empanada with soy cream. There is so much to try! And all accompanied by tasty GRAPE DISTRICT wines..
This is a really nice relaxed spot. And if you decide to go, you should try the burger boca with truffle mayonnaise!
