Imagine it’s late in the evening and you have two choices: Take out dinner or cook it yourself. The first is simple but you don’t feel like eating Thai food. Again. The second one is more complicated: what do you want to eat? You see yourself standing in your local grocery store with that million dollar question mark above your head: what to eat tonight?
HIGH END GROCERY STORE
BILDER & DE CLERCQ is all about convenience for you (and offers you a solution to this million dollar question mark). You do have to cook but it’s quite simple
: grab a basket, pick a recipe (1 of 14) and place the ingredients – gathered per recipe in one cabinet – in your basket (for 1 or 2 persons), go home and cook.
It saves you a lot of time, because you don’t have to think about what to eat, how much ingredients to buy and finding it all. Perfect for busy people! Or the lazy among us.
After the highly successful Burger Top 10, we wanted to try out BILDER & DE CLERCQ’s burger – or shall we say THE DUDE FOOD? A veal burger with provolone cheese topped off with a tomato basil sauce served with rosemary potatoes from the oven.
It was the exact right amount of food (though we wished for more), very flavorful and juicy meat and the sauce is a perfect balance between sweet and mildly spicy. A recipe we’ll be preparing at home a lot, for example on weekend days when we don’t feel like cooking.
VIRTUAL GROCERY BASKET
With the end of this review coming in sight, I pass on this virtual BILDER & DE CLERCQ grocery basket to my lovely friend and fellow food blogger Sesanne of THE LION KITCHEN. She’ll also prepare a dish and write about it on her blog. Follow STORY154 on Facebook and we’ll make sure to keep you up to date about this passing-on-the-recipe-thing.
Two burgers were harmed while writing this post.
