Never really wanted to visit Amsterdam’s zoo Artis? Now you got the ultimate excuse! Right next to the zoo is a new hotspot named CAFE RESTAURANT DE PLANTAGE since September. It is located in the former Ledenlokalen of Artis which is a beautiful monumental building that was used for exhibitions of agricultural flowers, books or collectibles but is was also rented out for events. The 19th-century greenhouse like industrial building is a true jewel in Amsterdam!
The former chef of HOTEL DE GOUDFAZANT is now chef of DE PLANTAGE and arranges lunch, drinks and bites and dinner. As a part of a group restaurants – CAFE RESTAURANT AMSTERDAM, RIVA and the restaurant of EYE – this cuisine is more oriental and Mediterranean oriented. Think of Gillardeau oysters, fish soup from Spain, a French bavette, risotto with fried scorzonera, mushrooms and Parmesan cheese or go for the crema catalana or the churros as a dessert. A wide variety of not such typical dishes and therefore better!
DE PLANTAGE enters our to visit list on no. 1! We can’t wait to write a review about it really soon ;) Let me know if you already went and what you think of it!
