Ok, De Foodhallen aren’t officially open yet (not until 21st Oct) and there are a few foodstands missing (especially chef Kranenborg’s stand) but it’s already open and you can enjoy coffee, lunch, drinks and bites or dinner here. Open daily from 11 am to 8 pm (weekends till 9 pm).
STORY154 got a sneak peek with some fellow foodies and set up a list for you what to eat at which food stand:
The Rough Kitchen is set up by Story154 friend Marcus Polman and his partner in the toughest kitchen of De Foodhallen Jord Althuizen (see picture above). Their specialty is to cook quality meat in an authentic way. These two carnivores serve the best pulled pork!
Viet View serves you Vietnamese streetfood. With one of the coolest food stand in DE FOODHALLEN, they really give an Asian feel to it. Expect fresh springrolls Gỏi cuốn with veggies and meat or Vietnamese baguettes Bánh mì.
Pasta Di Mamma is back in town! And it is the original one.. Homemade ravioli’s, pasta’s and of course the famous Pasta Di Mamma panini’s.
L’Entrecote Mobile is well-known because of their foodtruck, now has their first permanent spot! They sell delicious steak sandwiches made with butter sauce and on a white bun with some lettuce.
Wild Moa Pies are very welcome at STORY154 HQ! We love us some pies: From apple pie to these savoury pies filled with minced beef or with spinach and ricotta. Available in regular size or as party pies!
Caulils Kaas has amazing cheeses, a wonderful store on the Haarlemmerstraat 115 and makes one helluva grilled cheese sandwich for you! Deliciously with fresh figs and pickled onions.
Petit Gâteau is our favorite address for delicious little tarts, quiches and workshops! Now this deliciousness is also available at De Foodhallen to enjoy with coffee, as a dessert or to take home.
De Ballenbar serves you the Dutch delicacy bitterballen filled with goat cheese, shrimps, truffle (!!), beef, veal, chorizo and sate. We tried the balls with truffle and they were amazeballs!
Maza is a Dutch food brand that you’ll find in your local supermarket (in The Netherlands). They mostly sell hummus. Now they have their first food stand in DE HALLEN and they make the hummus in front of you. Also yummy pita with falafel.
The Butcher serves you the burgers you are used to at their Ceintuurbaan location. The same menu is served: A bunch of yummy burgers!
Shirkan is the only Indian stand in the former tram depot and they are waiting for their special oven to arrive. They’ll make fresh naan bread and combine it with lovely Indian curries!
Pink Flamingo has marvelous pizza’s in strange but tasty combinations!
When you go to De Foodhallen prepare yourself to eat a lot! What food would like to try right now? I would go for the pulled pork of The Rough Kitchen, the amazeballs of De Ballenbar, the pizza of Pink Flamingo. Oh.. actually I can eat everything. Again.
XX, Michelle
