10 Best Spots in Amsterdam West
As a local I never tend to switch between districts on a Saturday or Sunday. I spend my weekend days in one particular district of Amsterdam for coffee with friends, visiting that special store or craving for that signature dish. Instead of giving you a list of 10 great spots in Amsterdam West, here is a small city guide through Amsterdam West!
Start from the northern part of this district and work your way south. My day always starts with coffee. Do this at BAR BREITNER, BAR MICK or at CAFÉ DE WALVIS. If you’re here around lunch time, try the bruschetta’s at BOCCONI!
Then walk your way along the Frederik Hendrikstraat, Hugo de Grootplein and the Bilderdijkstraat. Not the prettiest streets to walk through but it will get you into a food valhalla! When the weather allows it, get some sweets at BILDER & DE CLERCQ and relax at the parc near DE LIEFDE.
Lunch time! You’re now in the area of FIER AMSTERDAM, VAN ‘T SPIT and BAR SPEK. Or do you need some other reasons to go here? When your tummy is full, it’s time to shop: Check out MISC STORE or GEKAAPT and walk your way towards the last food fest: DE FOODHALLEN with so much tasty food of THE ROUGH KITCHEN, VIET VIEW, CAULILS and PETIT GÂTEAU.
