Former restaurant Nevy along the Westerdoksdijk will be transformed into Nevel: A new restaurant by chef Ricardo van Ede and IQ Creative (Julius Bar & Grill, Le Coq and Mazzo). Their vision is like this rough chef Ricardo is: Rugged chic with a heart of gold (take another look at that photo).
The chef says that Nevel is a combination of everything that he has learned over the years and considers important. From really good food to the setting in which everyone feels at home. The Scandinavian interior design created by Concrete will provide this homey feel. With natural tones like wood, misty landscapes (nevel means misty in Dutch) and the preserving jars with Ricardo’s famous piccalilly in it.
The rough cuisine of Nevel works with seasonal produce only from land or water. Where possible they make everything themselves from the chutneys to the terrines and pickled vegetables. Ricardo prepares you a carefully selected 3 to 7 course menu or tasty á la carte meals like smoked sardines, rillette of wild goose or plaice with chestnut that all sound delicious. Or relax on a Sunday afternoon for an old school Sunday Roast, count me in!
The restaurant opens on Monday 19 January 2015. STORY154 will attend the official opening on Thursday.
