A wonderful new asset on the Krugerplein in Amsterdam Oost is Eddy Spaghetti. They opened three weeks ago and it’s booming ever since! Last Friday I checked out this pasta point in far far East of Amsterdam. You can’t make a reservation (only 6 persons and more), so I was luckily that my partner in food was early and saved us a seat.
Chef Lee is one of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen in London and he has working experience in the North of Italy. Therefore all pastas are homemade! Check out the menu here. The menu is small and very good. With only 7 starters, the burrata was already sold out when we ordered it (at 7pm; too bad) so we went with the bruschetta’s. As a main the arrabiata with conchiglie pasta and a spicy tomato sauce, the spaghetti with langoustines and the ravioli with pumpkin, hazelnuts, butter of sage and Parmesan cheese were all delicious.
With the same owners as Smokin’ Barrels and Bar Bukowski, you bet it’s a very cosy little spot in Amsterdam Oost and bound to be popular. Say what? It’s popular amongst the locals already!
It can be a bit busy and (sometimes) has a bad acoustic. The food definitely makes up for it! Now only let that waitress smile and you got a perfect night out. The waiter who also did the service at Bennys & Marys a while back (sorry forgot your name) really makes up for it with his bubbly character!
Another new spot has opened it’s doors in Amsterdam! It can be added to this list of best places to takeaway food because you can also takeaway the pastas. Lucky you who lives nearby!
