The name says it all: Chef’s Podium gives different chefs a stage to cook for their audience. With the love for cooking, local food and simplicity, Israelian chef Nimrod started CHEF’S PODIUM. And what a hit is this! After being named as one of Elle’s top 5 must eats (with Eddy Spaghetti, Le Coq among others), my curiosity was sparked.
The Food
All the chefs got one assignment: Make the meals with local and organic food and cook outstanding. When we visited this restaurant last Friday the veggie of the day was celeriac. Sometimes the chefs make meals that they are good at, other meals are real try-outs. “You never know what you gonna get” is one of my favorite Forrest Gump quotes and at Chef’s Podium it’s true. And believe me when I say that it’s really good what you’ll get to eat. The food is paired with a variety of wines from The Wine Spot that are priced perfectly.
Using An Existing Coffee Spot
Chef’s Podium makes use of Rue Sevres. A coffee spot along the Jan van Galenstraat in Amsterdam West that closes at 5 pm. Then food lover and initiator Nimrod and chef take over (every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6 pm). Because they make use of this existing location, they can keep the menu price and wine price very low.
This is a really relaxed spot with a huge love for food, marvelous wines in a simple interior. It’s surprisingly good!
