Loetje Centraal
The most seen and also – in my opinion – the most underappreciated monumental building in Amsterdam is Smits Koffiehuis. It’s a large white building in front of Central Station. Existing from 1919 it was a bit old and for travellers who really needed coffee and a seat. Now this place is getting renewed, opening April 2015 and the new entrepreneur has the best steak in town: Loetje is coming to the city centre with Loetje Centraal!
This 8th location of Loetje, next to the one in Zuid, along the IJ river and in Amsterdam Oost, this is the first one in the city’s centre! You can pop in from 8am till 11pm. For a coffee on their large terrace, a drink or their famous steak with fries and a salad on the side.
As from April 2015 you don’t have an excuse! There is always a Loetje in your neighbourhood..
