Hummus is a really popular meal in the Middle East for many many years already! And now hummus has crossed borders and flown over to this part of Europe. I love this foreign influence! I read that because we Dutchies don’t have a big food culture (f.e. like the Italians), we therefore are much more openminded to other food cultures. I love it! Is homemade hummus becoming a 2015 trend (or was it already in 2014?)?
Their Story
The founders of Sir Hummus Guy, Lior and Guy’s brother Dori travelled from Israel to The Netherlands to London and back to Amsterdam where Sir Hummus was born! Not always with the idea of opening a hummus bar but Guy was always busy optimizing his hummus making skills with friends as willing guinea pigs. Lucky friends!
You can take the hummus home as well. So this hummus bar can also be added to this list >
Homemade Hummus
Their homemade hummus comes in three varieties: classic served warm with pita bread, Lior’s salad on the side and Guy’s secret herbs mix or have it served with an egg or some slow cooked meat.
If you already like the supermarket hummus, you will love Sir Hummus homemade stuff! Check their website for opening hours (and they close when all hummus is finished).
