Story154’s Favorites – August 2015

In summer you live more outside than inside. At least when the Dutch weather allows it! Besides the ‘normal’ things to do, there are many food festivals to go to and also cool cultural ones like De Parade. We set up a list of things you might like this upcoming month!

Make sure to check this month’s food festivals! Maybe there is something between that you want to visit..

A Story154 favorite is Juice & Salad. Michiel and Nick use ingredients off of their own organic farm which are delicious! I personally love the combinations they put into their  salads. You can take away and sit in a park or along a canal and enjoy the sunny weather.

Choux is a new one in town that I would love to check out this month. I loved their previous pop ups Répéré and Foyer and I am really curious after the location they are at now (Spring House) and the food of course!

Oef, Sir Hummus what are you doing to me? Tried and tested this hotspot in De Pijp and wished it was in the Jordaan area instead of so far away from Story154 HQ. Their homemade hummus is full of yummy flavours and can be enriched with beef, homemade pickles and a salad. Also perfect to take out and sit in a nearby park!

At outdoor Food Festival Trek I tasted the burgers of Firma Pickles, a burger and wine bar. De-lic-ious! So if you are a total burger fan and happen to be in Utrecht (or see their food truck), go have a burger at Firma Pickles.

Summer pop up Vuurtoreneiland is an amazing experience where you discover the nature of a three centuries old island outside of Amsterdam. Combine that with good food and organic wines and you got yourself a very unique and romantic hotspot! Read about our experience here.

Café Kadijk is an Indonesian restaurant at Hoogte Kadijk and Entrepotdok. This spot is a favorite of Story154 because we love to hangout on their terrace in the sun (which stays here for a long long time) and due to the lovely Indonesian food. Make sure to try grandma’s meatballs!

This next place to be is the ideal spot to do some work, have a meeting, enjoy a lovely breakfast, ambiance and coffee. We are fan of Lotti’s , the cool hotel bar and restaurant of the recently opened Hoxton Hotel.

Do you have a favorite hangout you would love to share with Story154? Leave a comment below!
