This one is on my to visit list of this month! Because I love old buildings with a new destination especially the beautiful former city palace Felix Meritis, I heard a lot of positive things about restaurant Staets and because it’s new.
Restaurant Staets
Staets is named after the designer of the Keizersgracht, the canal they are at, Hendrick Jacobsz Staets. Although the man was Dutch and not from Belgium, restaurant Staets serves a Flemish cuisine in a minimalistic, warm classroom like space. But the good kind of classroom, because it comes with wine, beer and good food!
The Menu
Choose your favorite starter, main and dessert out of 10 daily dishes that the kitchen has for you! On the menu you only read the ingredients. There is a twist to it: You don’t know how the food will be prepared. Surprise, surprise! For an impression, check out their Facebook page.
You are totally disconnected from the city’s bustle and therefore your focus is on your company and on the food. You want that! Staets is open till the end of 2015 for lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday.
