Asian Restaurant Happyhappyjoyjoy

There is a new restaurant in town: Asian Restaurant Happyhappyjoyjoy recently opened its door along the Bilderdijkstraat in Amsterdam! And what a success it is already.. If you call them for a reservation, most of the time they’re full for the next couple of days. Good for you! Not for us spontaneous people ;)

The Concept & Interior
Happyhappyjoyjoy is a collaboration between chef and Asian cuisine passionate Julius Jaspers and IQ Creative. Happyhappyjoyjoy is an Asian restaurant that reminds you of big Asian cities like Bangkok, Hong Kong and Saigon. A back alley with steaming pans, a cheerful collection of colors and the organized chaos that is typical for Asian local markets and busy streets will take you right back to these atmospheres.

The Food
Happyhappyjoyjoy serves street food dishes (38!) with Thai, Malay, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Chinese and Korean influences. All the dishes are starter size and 3 to 4 dishes equal a full meal, but in case you can’t get enough you are more than welcome to order more! I heard good stories aboutthe pork belly and the peking duck baos (kind of bapao buns) and of course the Dim Sum from Oriental City. Discover this new Asian hangout in Amsterdam with a menu of sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami.

If you are craving Asian food while sitting on your couch or having a dinner at home, you can take away Happyhappyjoyjoy as well. Or give someone a evening to remember and buy them a dinner card!
